Some people do embrace when they meet, don't look too much into it. The laugh may be embarrassment from the class as maybe they don't agree with it. Nothing wrong with greeting people with a hug, man or woman........

A hug is maybe OK ... but a kiss? Not if you don't know the guy!

His actions were irresponsible and obviously embarrassing for you. You should demand an apology from him - in front of all your classmates too! You should not expect this kind of behaviour from anyone, even a long time, close friend.

why don't you ask him why did he hug you and kiss you? that's the only way you will find out his intentions. and maybe when you walking in the room he probably told everyone that he was going to do it maybe he is the class clown.

If it was the first time he's seen or met you, I'd say he was just messing with you. But I'd be polite and joke back. He sounds like he could be a fun guy to hang out with at least.

ok, first talk to him and say look dude i dnt know who you are what do you want, he may just be physically attracted to you, or he may be gay and is a guy who is really touchy touchy like shebaz from BB, or he may just fancy you and is the out and straigthforwrd type of people, talk to him and maybe you will find out
