Isn't Canada a free, democratic country?

I thought a person had the right to their opinions and express them as long as they didn't constitute hatred, etc. The politically correct people are getting really out of hand. See the link....

Update:

I meant free as in freedom of speech, freedom of religion, etc.

If you read the Koran, by the way, it promotes the idea that non-believers should be killed. You either convert to Islam or die (this is the basis for jihad).

I read the link. Most of it is political posuring. However, the antagonistic approach to Muslims borders on illlegal. We have "hate" crimes in Canada. The assistant's religious challenges are inappropriate unless addressed to all religions. Muslims should not be singled out to justify their religion. This assistant has a prominent position and should be representing the laws of the country, not inciting unrest or hatred.

I am sorry you do not see it, but that is promoting hatred, not "political correctness"! The conservatives would like to water down our hatred laws, I personally will do everything I can to stop this! They may start with homosexuals and Muslims, but where will it all stop? We need to stop this NOW, not just hope that they don't go "too far"

It certainly is NOT free - with the amount of taxes I have to pay.
