What's the right thing to call a female's organ for urination?
I told my 4 year old that boys pee through p***s, but then I don't know how to explain the female organ. Va**** seems wrong, and h*** is just vulgar. Is there a better name for it? I'm not looking for made-up names like "flower." I want to explain it properly.

both males and females urinate through a tube called the urethra that runs from the bladder to the outside of the body. in males the urethra is inside the penis. in females the urethra runs next to the vagina.

Well, I'm not going to tell you to talk to your mum, because since you've come here, you probably have some reason that you cannot talk to her. To answer your questions, sexual intercourse is when the man puts his penis inside a woman's vagina. And yes, the first time, it may hurt you, because when you lose your virginity you are breaking the hymen, which is a thin layer in your vagina. The tearing of the hymen may hurt, but it's also possible to tear the hymen through other activities such as bike riding and horseback riding. Your classmates were right when they say that it's pleasurable for a woman, after the initial tearing of the vagina, it's very pleasurable, and it does feel very nice. And sweetie, trust me, it's good that you're still innocent. There is a difference between being innocent and naive though. While it is good to be innocent about these sort of things, you must also be aware of the threats that exist. You do not need to know everything about sex right now, but you do need to know how to avoid placing yourself in a dangerous situation. That means that you need to learn the signs of being in danger, but it's not necessary to understand everything about sex. Good luck to you, if you have any more questions you can IM me at my adress in my profile =]

The urethra is a separate opening about one or two inches inside the vaginal opening situated at the top of the vagina. It's helpful if you have a diagram to show your child. You can order a 3D human anatomy program from www.contmediausa.com for under $30 to help you explain everything. My son asked questions at 4 yrs. also, but he wasn't ready for too much information. Your child will probably ask more at age seven or eight. Keep a fairly simple, straight forward science book handy in the bookcase so your kids can see the science of the body and satisfy their curiousity as they get older. Anatomy is part of life. If you don't make a big deal of it and don't elaborate too much until they are ready, your child will have a healthy, normal understanding of body parts and functions.

For a four-year old, v a g i n a is perfectly appropriate. To explain the entire urinary tract would be really complicated. Basically, you're teaching the differences between boys and girls, and that's the biggest, most visible difference. Later, you can teach more of the inner workings.

Ditto to above answers. It is called the urethra. Actually, boys also have a urethra... it just happens to run through the penis.
Kudos to you for wanting to use the correct terminology!!!

women urinate from the urethra whic is in the clitoris above the vagina. At four i told my daughter is was a matter of plumbing, girls had indoor and boys had outdoor, she was happy with that. Its not made up either if you think about it. You can see a boys urethra, but not a girls.

Women urinate through their urethra, which is next to their vagina. That is the technical word for it, just like penis is for a male.
