what is the meaning of the blue sunday song Hate me?

first of all, it's blue october..

Hate me is about the dude saying i'm sorry to his mother because he hasn't done anything for her and she's done everything for him... his way of saying sorry is through saying 'hate me'..

maybe the answering is there because the dude is trying to remember her mother.. those are just my opinions..

Blue Sunday Meaning

My crazy interpretation was that the person from whoms point of veiw the song is sung was an alcoholic or drug abuser. This abuse ruined a relationship. Both parties still had feelings for eachother, but the singer feels such strong guilt that he'd rather have her hate him than still be with him when he knows he doesn't her.

That's my read anyway... And yeah, Its Blue October (Houston native). Is it coinceidence that this come after the "I'll keep calling you to see" song which seems to be about a developing relationship?
