What is your opinion on the release of Windows Vista?

Seems it will be out January 2007?

Will you be first in line to get it?

or

Will you be waiting for bugs to be removed before purchase?

or

Are you planning on getting a new computer with Windows Vista installed in it as soon as it comes out?

What do you think about Windows Vista so far?

Please be nice.. :)

We have tried the latest Beta. The screens LOOK better than Window XP .. much has gone into graphics rendering.

But Vista needs so much more computer .. We are running it on a dual cpu 2.5 Ghz machine with 1G of ram. We are told it needs another Gig. And it runs slower to the user than Windows XP in 256 mg of ram on a single 2.0G processor.

Last week it mysteriously died and no longer boots.

And I tend to try and stay away from version 1.0 of anything. So I would wait awhile. Also since all of my machines are running fine on Windows XP and Linux, and they won't run Vista .. too slow .. I will not be buying it any time soon.

Honestly I cannot see any advantages for the user either. This is not just "dissing" microsoft .. I just cannot see how it will give any real value to the customers for business or home use.

Having used Beta1,2 and RC1 releases of VISTA I have to say it looks good. Almost like a junker auto with a new paint job. If you want to share your computer with every hacker, quack, and spammer in the universe feel free to get it. As Bill and his thugs make things more complicated they open more "back doors" and "open windows for invasion. The wekend hacker will be out of luck but anyone with a good working knowledge of the OS will have his/her way with it in minutes.
