I like it. I find it interesting that when he started singing he tried to imitate Robert Plant, but just didn't have the low end range. I think his voice is certainly different from many others, but that's a good thing. Since his bass lines are so active, a lower range voice would interfere with the bass lines and obscure either the bass or the voice. So I think it's complimentary to the music. It also seems to go with the genre of Progressive Rock, almost all of the top prog rock bands sing in the high range....

Porcupine Tree is probably one of the few that has a full range voice.
