Does anybody else dislike when people answer your question just for points?

Not too many of mine are answered that way, but it is irritating to see. You can report it as abuse.....

I haven't received those kinds of answers yet, but if I did, I'd probably report them and if got too bad, I'd just quite using the site all together. Having said that though, there are people on here with quite the impressive points total. If in fact they genuinely answerd every question they came across to atain that status I would call in to question just how much of a life do they have. I mean, for goodness sakes! It's nice that people are willing to share their knowledge about various topics but for there to be thousands of Dear Abby's sitting around all day answering questions and not earning a cent for their effort, is really quite sad.

I enjoy helping others and answer with that intention in mind, so I agree with you, but there are always going to be lazy people in the world and they are a pain in the ....point system.

if you report these point gamers they will lose 10pts for having a post removed. if they are point gaming they wont be happy campers.

i know the yahoo answers team are working on a concept to stop point gamers, its in the pipeworks along with other suggestions.

yes i hate that so much too, dont they realize that it lowers their best answer percentage

its like a catch 22.. i want to answer alot so i have more changes to get the best answer but every question brings the percentage down one more

I truly dislike it. I'm with you. It is my dream to at least get 3 genuine answers. I do not even ask questions anymore.

Yes, like in this other category this one guy keeps answering with "Jesus loves you". It's not even answering the question!

Yeah, I hate it when people do that too. It's pointless, getting points doesn't get you anything, it's not like money and this is all fun because it's our own little community. ♥

No - because if I help someone get to Level 7 they will remember me - in other words there is a trickle down affect in effect.
