    Less than 1

Specific gravity is the ratio of the density of a material to the density of water. The density of water is about 1 gram per cubic centimeter (g/cc). Hence, materials lighter than water (specific gravity less than 1.0) will float. Most materials have specific gravities exceeding 1.0, which means they are heavier than water and so will sink.

Insinuations are indirect suggestions floated into a conversation, thy just sit there waiting for people to grasp them. The minute someone does grasp them, the combined specific gravity of the person grasping this insinuation rises over one and the suggestion sinks in.

It depends on the denseness of the person being told.
