At an interview..The question of how do you feel about diversity in the workplace?

Now my answer is, I believe that when you can get more opinions about situations the better you are to handle a situation, and people with different backgrounds have different opinions.

What do they really want to hear?

They want to hear that you are all for it. That it is good, that it teaches people how to relate to others who are different from them in some way, that you look forward to working with a diverse group of people, how you can help maintain diversity and support diversity and be a proponent of diversity. It isn't really a loaded question. Diversity = a good thing.

They really just want to hear you string together a few coherent, well thought out sentences. It as an open ended type question where they want you to pick an answer and back it up.

I would say, it has its pro's and con's, I would have to research it before offering an opnion. Diversity, may or may not, add value to the workplace.

One would need to define and specify for me what is meant by diversity. I cannot take anything for granted.
