Be Jack From "Jack In The Box". Get a one of those big balloons and use the plaster with mesh to cover the whole balloon. Then let it dry over night. Pop the balloon, cut holes for the eyes and cover with mesh. Then just look at the Jack image. The hat and nose is pretty easy to make. Paint a red mouth. You can wear whatever outfit you would like. If you don't want to be "Jack In The Box" then just use the same concept with the big balloon with plaster and be a Giant Pumpkin Head.

How about a short, fat midget/dwarflike creature with orange skin and green hair?

make up your own superhero! the best part is you don't have to do any shopping, you just use what you have and get really creative with it.

here's what i did: grey leggings, bright red underwear worn outside them, a bright green t-shirt with a huge letter s (my first name's initial) painted with sparkles, a bright red fabric cape, black leather boots, a bright green beret (don't ask me how i happened to have that), hot pink gauntlets i made myself, and a big metal belt buckle with cell phones and a pocket knife tucked in to make it look like a gadget belt.

here's some ideas:

-ski goggles make great visors (think cyclops from x-men) or take a funky wide fabric headband and cut eyeholes in them

-cut the fingers off of an old pair of bright colored gloves. instant gauntlets.

-if you don't have anything suitable for a hat, gel your hair into a really exagerrated '80s "a flock of seagulls" wave hairdo

-take some padding or cotton balls and stuff them under your cape shoulders to look more buff

-record or use your favorite heroic sound loop or ringtone (i used the ninja turtles theme) onto your cell phone and open the file so it goes off continuously as you walk

-no jewelry. superheros have no time for fancy baubles and things.

-get creative! you can use anything you already have!

What you could be is Homer Simpson, from "The Simpsons." Get a blow-up suit and some kind of hat that shows you are him. and paint your face yellow and put on a muzzle. we had something like that in my high school. My friend did that and won first prize.

Well....how about Willie Wonka? Then, you could go around making smart, sarcastic remarks to everyone and get away with it - the attitude is part of the costume, right?!?!?!? Just DON'T FORGET THE CHOCOLATE BARS!!!!!!!!
