Yahoo Answers is shutting down on May 4th, 2021 (Eastern Time) and beginning April 20th, 2021 (Eastern Time) the Yahoo Answers website will be in read-only mode. There will be no changes to other Yahoo properties or services, or your Yahoo account. You can find more information about the Yahoo Answers shutdown and how to download your data on this help page.

I asked a question which was removed after voting closed. Why?

The question received only one answer. When the time came to choose best answer, I chose "no best answer". I was able to access the question and its answer on my questions list after that. Today I wanted to look at it again and couldn't! It says "question removed" Why?

Update:

Neither the question nor the answer were explicit in details, at least not in the sense that they were obscene or racist or anything like that.

Update 2:

I have not yet received an email, but I have noticed that Yahoo is frequently tardy with this kind of thing. The email I received informing me of my one answer was 2 days after I had read the answer!

questions that have no answers or, when they have gone to voting, have more votes for the No Best Answer option get automatically removed from the system.

because you were unable to get a good response (if any), the 5pts used to ask the defuct question goes back to you. if you were to delete the question, you would lose those five points.

Pessimoptimist, the No Best Answer option is for cases when none of the answers is considered worthy of being called Best Answer. When the No Best Answer option wins the vote, all the answers and the question are removed. If you have any suggestions for how this kind of confusion could be avoided, please let me know.

If the question/answers were explicit in nature, that is probably the reason why it was removed.

Its up to the moderators discretion.

You get an email that says why.
