This generally falls outside of the 8:30 am to 9:00 pm time that they can legally call. You can simply send them a letter advising them that any call to any number is inconvenient to you. If they would like to avoid legal penalties, they will agree to abide by your request in accordance with the Fair Debt Collections Practices Act.

Not in Canada as that is against the privacy and information act. As a matter of fact no bus. may contact you without your permission after 9 pm for any reason. If they do get there name and company that they work for and then go to the court house and spend the 85.00$ and launch a small claims court proceeding against them, you automatically get 5000.00$ from them as it is against the P.O.I.f. A..Not even the government can call after 9 Pm.They may call and offer you a prize of some sort but get the names of the person and the company information as this normally leads to you getting the prize provided that they are allowed to demonstrate the product that you answered a survey question about it,same thing against the law.Never give your birthday, sin(social security number or postal code over the phone as this allows people to access your credit history and maybe identify theft. In Canada you can get what is called

title plus fro this at a one time cost of 100.00$ ,then if this happens the company pays off the en-strangled creditor and then goes after the criminal and your credit rating is not affected.

  • THE BILL COLLECTORS ARE PAID BY COMMISSION,BELIEVE IT OR NOT,MOST ARE NOT ON THE SAME TIME ,DIFFERENT TIME ZONE, SO WHEN THEY CALL YOU AT 9PM, ITS PROBABLY ONLY 4 OR 5 PM THERE TIME! THEY USUALLY DONT CARE AS MOST OF US KNOW, THEY HAVE NO RULES OR HAPPINESS ABOUT THEM. THERE IS NO LAW THAT REGULATES A BILL COLLECTOR TO ANY SET REGULATIONS, IT SUCKS, LET THE ANSWERING MACHINE GET IT, JUST SCREEN THE CALLS IN CASE OF AN EMERGENCY,OR YOU WILL NEVER FORGIVE YOURSELF OTHERWISE, HOPE THIS HELPS A LITTLE

The answer is legally they can only call between 8 a.m and 9 p.m. IN YOUR TIME ZONE. The yahoos who said pay your bills, etc, etc. Obviously have never had any hard times. I am sure you would if you could but everyone falls on hard times some time in their life. I hope you can work things out.

The FDCPA applies to 3rd occasion sequence agencies. If this may well be a set employer, you could deliver them a qualified, return receipt letter telling them to stop calling you at paintings as you're no longer accepted to get carry of own calls. in spite of the undeniable fact that, payday lenders are no longer frequent for abiding via the regulations.

write them a letter and DEMAND they stop calling or you will sue them for harrassment. They are required by law to stop calling.

But it must be in writing.
