Including tests, how many nuclear detonations have there been?

And what negative effects have these detonations had on the planet?

    Thousands.

Between 1945 and 1997, there were 1,897 atomic tests between the USA, USSR, UK, France, China, India and Pakistan. Plus two that were not tests, if you get my drift.

There were 178 in 1963 alone.

Negative effects to the planet? Well, Nevada and Semipalatinsk are radioactive wastelands; there are fewer Pacific atolls now; and we're exposed to more radiation everywhere.
