My Kitten lost a tooth while playing?!?!?!!?
My 7month old kitten, Doodles, lost a small incisor tooth today. I know that is normal, but I feel like I might have been premature, since I was playing with him with a catch and reel toy when it happened. Isn't he too young to be loosing teeth yet?and should I take him to the vet to have him check out his dental progress?
Thankyou for all the speedy answers. I feel so much better that it isn't premature for him. He seems to be doing great. No bleeding, and has been attacking his lil'sister as if she were a big hairy rat...lol. Thankyou everyone.

It's okay. Kittens lose baby teeth just like children do....as you indicated. I'm such a kitty lover that I actually found one of my kitten's teeth and put it in with my son's collection of his baby teeth. The age you mentioned is about right for this to happen. If you open the kitty's mouth, you may notice a few "extra" teeth pushing out old teeth. They will have two rows of teeth for just a while as the new teeth are pushing through. Don't worry, you actually helped in getting the tooth out so the adult ones can come in. Oh, but you can feed soft food for a day or two to help with chewing...if kitty eats mainly hard food.

No, sounds about right. Kittens lose their baby teeth around 6-8 months. It was likely ready to fall out anyway & the toy just happened to be the thing that yanked it out. Have the vet check him, though, if he's got a lot of bleeding.

Actually is is normal for a cat to loose teeth and sometimes cats teeth fall out onto the floor or something but they usually just swallow them. Ur kitten is not in pain because its normal so u shouldn't worry about it.

I know u feel bad. A little kitten is fragile anyway. I would take the kitten to the vet. Maybe don't play so rough, remember it doesn't take much, with such a tiny little animal.

Kitties and puppies loose their "milk" teeth just like other kids do. Call the vet and ask before wasting a trip. This is one of the reason chew toys are good for little critters, it helps them to shed teeth.
