    There are so many villians to choose from, so I've narrowed mine down to these 5:(In no particular order.)

    #1--Nans Gruber{played by Alan Rickman) in the 1st Die Hard movie.(1988.) He was just plain evil.

    #2--Lex Luther{played by Gene Hackman} in the 1st Superman movie.(1978.) Sadly we lost one of our all time heros when Christopher Reeve lost his battle for life on Oct./10./2004. He's sorely missed by all his fans, such as me. {God Rest Your Soul Christopher, as now you're in God's hands & you'll always be our SUPERMAN.}

    #3--Dr.Hanniball Lector{played by Sir Anthony Hopkins.} He was a character wasn't he.?(Silence of the Lambs with one of my fave stars--Jodi Foster.(1991)

    #4--Don Vitto Corelone{played by Marlon Brando-one of the movie icons of our times.}{ The Godfather--1972.}

    #5--What would be a villian site without a villian from those great westerns we saw & loved(I did anyway, as I am a big western movie fan.) The most villianous villian in westerns was :

    Lee Van Cleef--(Jan./09./1925-Dec./16./1989.) He played the the villian,{as the henchman.} for Lee Marvin in The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance,(1962) which starred 2 other great actors of the western era movies--John (The Duke) Wayne & Jimmy Stewart.

    His other villian parts were in 2 of Clint Eastwood's movies, namely--A Fistfull of Dollars(1965) & The Good, The Bad & The Uguly(1966.) {Sergio Leone westerns were the genre in the 50's-60's with the moniker Spaghetti Westerns.}Lee Van Cleef was also the villian in High Noon(1952) with Gary Cooper. He was the quintessintal villian in the movies of the Western movies era.

    Mr. Van Cleef had a saying he liked to quote to reporters etc. quote--"Being born with a pair of beedy eyes was the best thing that ever happened to me." End quote. Also he asked that the following phrase be put on his grave marker & it is on his grave marker in Forrest Lawn Hollywood Cemetry;: this is the words engraved on the marker:>>>>"Best of Bad' Love of Life."

    Have a great night everyone....See you at the movies.****R./CAT:>>>>

    Source(s): Movies I've seen & enjoyed, Villians & all. A little Yagoo/Google research for L.V. Cleef's date of death etc., as it's been awhile since I saw those movies with him in them.

    American here 1. The Princess Bride 2. The Thing (1982) 3. Hot Fuzz 4. Inglorious Basterds 5. The Fifth Element and for the record, there's this AWESOME and hilarious Australian movie called "The Castle," about a father trying to save his house from being bought out by the local airport. From what I've heard, it adequately portrays the Australian lifestyle and culture. It's also the only movie I can think of where the featured family doesn't all hate each other, but in fact, loves each other a lot and nothing strains their relationship while they fight the government to keep their home. Great Aussie movie.

    5. John Herod (Hackman in The Quick and the Dead) - So overtly mean and calculating, the way Lex Luthor should have been played.

    4. Lex Luthor - Honestly, the Spacey version was closer to my imagination of the character.

    3. Credited as The Gunslinger - Yul Brynner in Westworld is creepier than any terminator you can throw at me.

    2. Jason Voorhees - Is he really the bad guy, cause I’m right there with him on each of his kills.

    1. Darth Vader - No way can I go against you on that one, although the most recent installments came close to dethroning him.

    What’s with the Top 5 limit? Oh well.

    Source(s): I think I like... different movies.

    Top five Villains?

    5- Shredder- until the end of TMNT (The 1rst movie) he is a bada$$... Equal to four ninjas and sadistic enought to torture his Nemesis

    4- Skeletor- Again, in The Masters of The Universe movie he was truly evil. Enslaving a planet and having his foe publicly whipped!

    3-Tetsuo- (From Akira) The definitive of having absolute power corrupting absolutely.

    2- Magneto- Just for the fact that, as the three movies progressed, he got more and more evil.

    1- Emperor Palpatine- Powerful as any Jedi and more cunning then anyone could ever imagine. He orchestrated a galactic war (two actually) and played both sides just to consolidate his own power.
