How do you feel about a Victim’s Rights Amendment to the Constitution of the United States of America?

How do you feel about a Victim’s Rights Amendment that not

only empowers victims but...

1. strengthens the right of the people to protect them selves from ALL CRIME (i.e. our second Amendment rights)

2. Secures the right of the people to the rehabilitation of errants

3.Enforces the Freedom of Information by insuring the people the Right to factual information about crime prevention and accurate statistics regarding offender recidivism and victim recovery.

4. Grants victims of crime Miranda like Rights.

5.Grants victims of crime the Right to Legal Representation outside of the Prosecutor to insure they are treated with dignity and their voice carries sway in a Court of Law, including the Right to veto, approve and offer plea agreements, the Right to plea, “support” or “opposed,” to the stand of the Prosecution, with explanation, in court, and the Right to examine and cross examine witnesses?

Human rights must be further institutionalized in the laws in order to protect the people from abuses of law enforcement agencies and the courts.

Bad idea. The whole point of criminal prosecution in this country is to keep victims from seeking revenge, but rather to look at the crime more impartially. A murderer is a murderer (or a burglar a burglar), regardless of who the victim is or how outspoken that victim may be.

    NO!

Victims have the full force of the law behind them.

What we need is a Defendants Rights Amendment.

The liberal judges and the liberal press would just ignore it like they ignore the rest of the constitution already

Bad idea. Why not just get rid of liberals and treat criminals like the criminals they are.
