Hi there,
Speaking Legally, you can get a open-source version of Microsoft Office, called OpenOffice.org
it has all the same programs and features, in a slightly different interface. It can open all Microsoft formats such as Excel (.xls), powerpoint (.ppt) and Word (.doc), so its a good free alternative!
You can get version 2 from here: http://www.openoffice.org/

You can, but it would be illegal. You can try transferring the two programs into the new computer. Do you have the installation CDs?
