Tummy Time question?

My baby is almost 11 weeks old. I have tried about 5 times a day to put him on his tummy to play, but he has been immediately rolling himself onto his back since he was about 7 weeks old. He refuses to stay on his tummy! Is this normal? Should I be worried that he might not want to start crawling?

I'm suprised he was rolling over at 7 weeks. However i wouldn't worry about him not crawling.

My son is 4 months old and when i lay him on his back he goes straight to his belly. If I lay him on his belly he goes straight to his back. I think he is just excited he can do something. lol

My daughter was rolling over the day she was born. And sleeping through the night since she was 2 weeks old. She's never liked her tummy. She's 6.5 mos now and she doesn't mind her tummy as much, but she's getting used to it. She has very strong legs though and she does good standing against the couch so she might be walking before she crawlk. Maybe that's what your son is going to do.

It's okay if he doesn't crawl.

First of all, I am AMAZED that your child is rolling over at 7 weeks! Holy cow! I would not worry. Most children do not like tummy time. Try when he is calm and relaxed, and don't force the issue. Soon he will be rolling across the room, and will be interested in the different perspective that tummy time gives.

He sounds really advanced! Congrats!! My baby is 7 weeks old and no sign of rolling over! He will start crawling, all in due time. It's easier fora baby to roll from his tummy to his back, than from his back to his tummy, so he is probably just getting used to his new trick!

I have two kids. Neither of them really cared to play on their tummies...neither of them have had developmental problems...my first son walked at 11 months and my second son walked at 10 months. You can't really force them to stay on their tummies once they can roll over
