buck or doe rabbit?
what is the best type of rabbit to get ? doe or a buck? what are the advantages and disadvantages of each from those of you who own rabbits? the rabbit wont be paired so there will be no risk of mating. just wondered if one was more friendly and less agressive than the other.

I have 2 buns, I female, 1 male (They live together, but they are spayed and neutered)
Rabbits are not really aggressive animals anyway, but I have noticed no major difference in behavior, based on sex, in my rabbits. But my rabbits are very well socialized and handled multiple times daily.

You should go to a rescue and check out all the rabbits. each bun has a different personality just like people. If you do get one from a rescue the cost of the spay or neuter will be included in the adoption fee. Maybe you could get a nuetered male and a spayed female. They are a great comination that way they won't be lonely.

Does are more gentle, but they tend to get fat if not breeding. Bucks will scratch more, but stay slim and more active in general. A lot depends on the breed, as well. For a house pet, I would look into one of the miniatures. If you want to go full size the Lops or Chinchillas are pretty gentle.

i could like to decrease back up Kate's answer- dwarf breeds could be separated by ability of 12 weeks of age so which you have no longer any unplanned babies. you are able to nonetheless be conscious them mounting one yet another - that's popular habit.

either one, they both have about the same temperment. The best thing to do is pick one that you are comfortable with.
