What should I do for my house warming party?

Update:

What about a cake that says something corny like, "God Bless this Home" or something ???

Just serve some hordourves (sp?) and some fancy drinks. After wards you can then make some coffee and have some cake, pie or cookies on hand. There's really not much you can do..it's like a get together with family and friends and for you to give them a tour of your home.

Have an "open house". Serve food. Offer small door prizes so that people don't think you are just out for the gifts! Oh, and have something for the men to do like turn on the ball game or set up a make-shift putting green.

you should register at a home store like macy's or bed bath & beyond so people know what to buy you for your new place. As far as the party I recommend catering if you dont want to spend too much time cooking for your guests. Good luck and congrats!

You can have a small cook out or potluck. That is what my wife and I did, just invited several friends and family to spend a small portion of their evening with us.

have a sign in booklet and everyone that sees your house has to sign and date it! its so much fun to see who's been to your house, etc etc. in 10 years its fun to look back at it.
