Adult Women Only Please!?

I am a 37 year old woman that has been having breast pain for the last 3-4 days. It feels almost like when you are letting your milk "dry up".. No, i am not pregnant! I had my tubes tied over 7 years ago and had my period just over 10 days ago. I have experience "breast soreness" before my period in the past. But nothing like this, it HURTS.

I understand you are not doctors, I am making an appt, but was just wondering if anyone else experienced the same thing?

Update:

Great i have chest flutters too!!! So, i am probably just getting to be an old lady....i knew this would happen!! haha

    You've received many good answers.

You might have your hormones checked.

You could be having some perimenopausal symptoms. :(

It's good you're going in for a check-up with your doc.

I had the exact same thing in the spring - it lasted almost 3 months and at different times through the month, I noticed lumps too. I was freaking out!! My breasts were so sore, it was keeping me awake at night and it hurt sometimes to even walk. I bought a really good sports bra to hold me in place. I did consult with my doc and he sent me for tests - apparently it is hormones. I am 35. From alot of reading I did on it, it appears that this is common in our age group and could continue, on and off, until menopause. Lucky us!! One day though, it just went away but I'm sure it'll be back. I'm glad you're making an appointment but rest assured, this is very common.

I am 39. I too had the same problem I did go to the doctor and all was ok I did not have breast cancer or anything. she told me that it was due to our hormones change. and age. and it was nothing to worry about. sometimes maybe right after or a couple of weeks after my cycle. I have it again. I also have had chest flutters, and she said that was due to hormones dropping. good luck to you.

  • YES! And I was told this is compleatly normal. Just the hormonal change of your monthly cycle. A hot pad and some ibuprofin works for ME. But I also know this can be a sign of something more, so yes, better safe then sorry, and have your doc check you out.

For less than a year, ive been experiencing this,my breasts checked out fine. I think its just hormones or ovulating. I was concened bc it just started and Im 26. But always get breast pain checked out,JIC,especially if your leaking milk, when its not necessary

i never went through this but im younger but im glad you are seeing the doctor i do not think this is a normal thing bc i have friends who are around you age and they are women and they never mentioned anything like this. I think you best bet is too see the doctor and i hope that it turns out to be nothing serious.

    Good luck

I get that feeling a lot, either right before or right after. I assumed it was just because of the hormone levels in your body during your period.
