What are the best products for hair straightening?

I have extremely naturally curly hair and a stylist suggested a flat iron for my bangs. I am not sure what it was that she used. My hair was dry and she put something on her hands and then ironed my bangs. My bangs stayed frizz free for hours! Now I am using a spray that is supposed to protect my hair and some pomade.

It gets frizzy and starts curling again.

DO NOT put anything on your hair after you iron it...the moisture will make it curl back up. If you are using a flat iron spray that should work. If its not working, try a smoothing serum like Super Skinny Serum by Paul Mitchell

If you can get GHD straightening irons in your country, then go for it! They are the best investment I have ever made! If you can't find them, then 100% ceramic irons are definitely best.

I always use a heat-resistant product - usually a spray or a cream - all over my hair first and comb it through. Then use a big round brush and straighten 1-2 inch thick sections of your hair at a time from root to tip. You only need to run the irons over the section once or twice (if the irons are good quality).

Afterwards put a tiny bit of hair serum on to give your hair a bit of shine.

I use my straighteners after washing, having blow-dried my hair or let it dry naturally. You can also use them on unwashed hair - but always wash regularly to stop the products building up and dulling your hair.

Hair straightening irons have wide plates to accommodate large sections of hair. These ceramic-coated plates distribute heat evenly and prevent damage to the hair. The nylon comb attachment holds the hair taut during the straightening process to give better results. These straightening irons offer different heat settings to suit various hair types. The ceramic technology allows gentle infrared heat and negative ions that will result in frizz -free hair. Hot pressing irons have been used for straightening hair since nearly a century now. To use a hair straightening iron, you need to wash your hair and towel dry it.

A small amount of lubricating solution or gel is used to allow the heat to pass through quickly. The straightening iron is used to reconnect the broken bonds of the hair into a new position. Use of straightening irons offers a temporary solution to the problem of curly hair. But care should be taken to see that you do not overuse the hair straightening irons. It can result in breakage and skin burns.

After any form of hair straightening it is adviseable to use a mild shampoo and strong conditioner so that the hair is well protected. Regular deep conditioning of the hair can give it a healthier bounce and shine. Use good detangling products and wide -toothed comb for the hair after a straightening treatment. A tip to those who want to add a bit of shine - Add a drop of silicone serum and watch the tresses bounce. A little care will go a long way in maintaining the straightened tresses.

I'm not sure of products, but I do know that a 100% ceramic straightening iron works way better than metal ones.

I would call her and ask her what she used in your hair. She should be more than happy to tell you. Seeing how most salons sell all the products their stylists use right there in the store, it only works in their benefit to push the product that works for you.
