Do modern day Africans and African Americans really have anything in common?
Black and white Americans probably have much more in common that Africans and black Americans. What do you think?

The only thing common among African and African Americans is the skin colour(just about, depending on the shade of it ), everything else pales into insignificance. Africans generally admire African American Rap culture, but African Americans dont seem to like Africans very much from what I hear is going on in New York, and many distance themselves, and they dont seem to get along too well with African Caribbeans in New York either, from what I hear, but seem to accept their British Counterparts on the other side of the Atlantic! Weird.

Honestly, I don't think so. I am first generation Nigerian American and from what I've seen and from my own personal POV, I don't think they really have any connection. The culture is different, the work ethic differs, the values differ, the mannerisms differ, and I could go on. I find myself feeling a gap between Black Americans myself. I also still feel a gap between Africans and myself, but I get along with them better than the average Black American.

Mosses was a Jew as well and he could pass for black, he was raised as the son of the Egyptian king. You don't really believe that the Egyptians you see today are the ones of that time do you? Egypt was conquered by the Assyrians a long long time ago, the ancient Egyptians had to flee their home land as refugees and ended up in places like Ethiopia and Sudan.
