Yes, you can talk to as many people as you want using every IM client available. Heck you can go to http://www.trillian.com/ and download a free IM client that incorporates all of the good ones ini one simple application, yahoo, Aim, ICQ, MSN and more. Hope this helps.

To talk to AOL you have to have an account, or, call them: I think the number for AOL is: 877-773-4462. You will be asked your user name, if you don't have an AOL account, make up a name, or just mumble something several times that does not make sense, and you will, eventually, get someone online.

i have trillian, it has aim, yahoo, msn, and other instant messaging services in one, just go to download.com and search for trillian, hope this helps
