Why is it not good to take orange juice with medicine?

    with some medicine the acid in the juice disolves it quicker than the medicine was designed to be affective.....and if you drink orange juice with some medication it will cause acid reflux which is extremely unfomfortable..........with some medicine the acid in the juice will actually change the way the medicine works....so if the label says no orange juice.......then you cant take it or the medicine will not work affectively..

    peanut girl is right its the acid and if you drink the acid with the medicne it wont work because the acid is blocking the medicine thats why when you have mucus or something you drink it because it blocks the mucus so it can come up i am a registerd doctor i am in school now i graduate next month

    high sugar content. they always say water because anything else can change the digestion of the pills
