Can anyone tell me the name of this 70s t.v. movie?
One scene takes place in a high school gymnasium. Two girls are told by their teacher to climb a rope that's attached to the ceiling. The other girls are cheering one of them on. One of the girls (the main character) is overweight and cannot climb the rope at all. The other girl is conceited and makes it to the top. Once she's at the top, she starts showing off by doing gymnastic twists and turns on the rope. The overweight girl does something with her mind that causes the other girl to fall and break her neck. It turns out that the overweight girl has supernatural powers.
I don't know the names of the actors in this movie. I've been trying to find it, but haven't had any luck. Does this movie sound familiar to anyone?

Sissy Spacek as Carrie wasn't overweight. The girl also had dark hair. Carrie White had light brown-reddish hair.
Tried the IMDb and it didn't work which is why I decided to post this question here.
Thanks for your input "dodge69874". You seem to be the only other person besides me who's seen Carrie. Everyone else, please keep in mind that I'm asking about a TV movie.

thats not carrie. theres no part in carrie when that happens and carrie isn't overweight. also carrie doesn't kill anyone until the end when they spill pigs blood on her.

Trapped (1973), with James Brolin as the main character. It hasn't been released on DVD or VHS in the United States, and I don't think it gets any TV/Cable play here, either. You can get a pirate DVDR on some auction sites, but it's sourced from an Australian VHS, and the conversion from PAL to NTSC was done cheapo-style: the picture jitters. There's an avi available on some bittorrent sites that fixed this, so that's probably your best bet if you want to see it again.

Sounds like "Carrie" to me too!...That movie sure makes a person think twice about hurting others feeling!
