I have a beard right now. Not a grizzly Adams beard by any means, but a beard.

if you normally wear a beard, then keep your beard. if you dont, then shave it off. just make sure its a picture that you don't mind flashing to about a million people. just a tip, whenever you go travelling to foreign countries and you have to show your passport to women, like in a bar, if they ask for id, if they think you're goodlooking, and know you're american, they'll give it to you on the house.

If you wear a beard as a rule, then have the photo taken with your beard. If you think that you will be clean shaven in the future when you plan to travel, then shave for the picture.
I don't think it makes a difference, however, one way or other.

Yes. You said you have a beard "right now," assuming that you don't always. I'd say your most recognizable look is clean-shaven.
It doesn't matter to immigration departments or anything, though.
I say shave it, beard-o.

photo needs to be a true likeness of the applicant. if you normally wear a beard, that is what should be in your photo.

Do you think it interferes with your personal appearance? If not, I wouldn't worry about it:)
