Check out this book "Neon Nuptials" by Ken Van Vechten you can buy the book through http://www.lasvegasadvisor.com/ for $13.46 - This book has anything and everything about getting married in Las Vegas...

When someone says "Las Vegas Wedding" everyone automatically thinks 'tacky little wedding chapels being married by a bad Elvis impersonator'. I'm sure there are plenty of facilities in Vegas to hold an elegant wedding....(there are normal people that live and work there) and there wouldn't be a lack of activities to do after the wedding for you or your guests. It would be a great idea.

The Las Vegas Visitors & Convention Bureau posts this information about Vegas weddings:
"From formal black-tie affairs to renewing vows in front of a rhinestone-studded Elvis impersonator, more than 122,000 couples obtain marriage licenses each year in Las Vegas, making it the marriage capital of the world.
Neither blood tests nor waiting periods are required if you want to tie the knot. The legal age is 18 for both men and women (proof of age is required) and licensing fees are $55. Civil ceremonies can be performed at the Marriage Commissioner's Office at 309 S. 3rd St. Chapel fees vary depending on the services provided.
For marriage license information call the Clark County Marriage License Bureau (702-671-0600), 201 Clark Avenue (located on the northwest corner of Clark Avenue and Third Street). Marriage License Bureau hours are 8 a.m. to midnight, including holidays.
You can get married in Vegas even if you're not a U.S. resident. Most countries require a certified copy of your marriage certificate ($10) and an apostille from the Nevada Secretary of State ($20). Contact home country's Consulate office located in the U.S., to inquire if additional certifications are required."

Pick up your licence for $55 and you can get married in any one of the 71 chapels/marriage venues, or go to the Grand Canyon, Mount Charleston, Lake Las Vegas, Red Rock Canyon etc for your ceremony.
Decide on your budget and remember to allow $50 ministers fee, $50 photographers gratuity, $20 limo driver gratuity (if one if included in your package) and something for your wedding co-ordinator.
The site below features every chapel in Vegas, and lets you search every wedding ceremony by cost and theme/traditional ceremony. It also lets you search reception venues with fixed price menus by cost and cuisine.
Personal recommendations: we chose the Bellagio Terrace overlooking the lake for our own wedding (the fountains play for you at the end of the cermeony) and it was wonderful. Other chapels which really stood out for me were Little Chapel of the Flowers, Graceland Wedding Chapel and Little Church of the West. We chose Mon Ami Gabi at Paris for our reception - great food, great service and nice views of the Bellagio Fountains.
Have fun!

the laws are very liberal..the marriage lisence office opens early and doesnt close until midnight...i reccommend if you are going to do a package through a large hotel to reserve 3-5 months in advance. for the smaller chapels, 1 month in advance is usally enough. there is no blood test required..go to vegas.com and click on their link for wedding info and a list of the chapels. some of the casino weddings are expensive, but Paris had a grat package that included your room for a reasonable price.
