Honesty, being able to tell your partner whats wrong, whats on your mind, being able to express your feelings and not being scared.

It's a combination of several things on different levels but most of all I'd say the friendship element is the most important, and with that respect and trust. If you don't LIKE your partner as a person or feel able to socialise with them, the rest of the relationship can't survive, not even with fantastic sex as that's only on one level.

Communication is the # 1 thing that should be in a relationship b/c when U have communication U know what is goin on a relation.

Honesty and trust. With those 2 things, then love, romance, firends, sex all falls into place.

communication, being able to talk to your partner help the relationship. also trust, being able to know that you don't have to be with him/her all the time and wondering what they are doing helps the relationship as well.

If I had to choose just one thing, I would say trust.
