It sounds like you're using Outlook Express or other client to send your emails. If you're using the free Yahoo, you can't use OE for emailing - you're restricted to the Web-based interface on the Yahoo site. But if you're using Yahoo Mail Plus, you would need to configure your client for POP access. See the link below for more information.
