Are THE OHIO STATE BUCKEYES # 1 ?

OSU is #1 they will crush the gophers & michigan did not.

I am confused. Aren't these the same writers who have voted OSU number 1 since the start of this season? So to answer your question, yes, the Buckeyes are number 1 in all the polls. The argument of well, OSU beat team A by more than UM did is kind of ridiculous, unless it was an extreme blowout. What we will find out is when they play each other. GO BLUE.

This year there is a weak number 2 no matter who it is. Michigan is ok but as long as they are still coached by Lloyd Carr anything [bad] can happen. USC is not the USC of the last three years -- they are vulnerable to the right team at the wrong time. Texas? Come on, I'm STILL waiting for reality to hit (and it will -- with a crunch). Auburn has already lost -- bad -- at home. We don't know what WVU is capable of, but I doubt they're more than a pretty good team. Other than that loss to Auburn, Florida is looking pretty good -- they might still be the #2 team -- but their qb situation scares me.

Thus you have OSU and a bunch of weak number 2's. If things go according to plan I wouldn't look for a super-competitive national championship game. Then again, when do things ever go according to plan?

Yeah and plus Michigan already beat Wisconsin so that wouldn't work too well. Oh and didn't USC fall to lowly UCLA, however, since they beat Michigan they are gods. Boise State beat one good team in that of Oklahoma. Ohio State topped off two #2 teams in Texas and Michigan, plus 24 Penn State and a 13 Iowa, and lost one game (even though it was ugly) Michigan beat #2 Notre Dame, dominated in the majority of their games, fell to the hands of the #1 team Ohio State by 3, and losses a second to a #8 USC Florida deserves #1 after this victory tonight LSU lost to Florida and Auburn, had a fluff schedule, but did beat out Tennessee and Arkansas, dominates Notre Dame (which Michigan and USC both did already this year) and you say they deserve a national title shot???? Wisconsin was a good team and deserves in the top 5. Think before you rank. Boise is alright, not fantastic, but alright. USC is very dominate "most" of the time but has had too many close calls with subpar teams and lost twice in the season by a little better than average teams.

Ohio State is comparatively better than Michigan so far. They have defeated #2 Texas on the road, #24 Penn State, and #13 Iowa on the road. Their margin of victory against Iowa on the road

was 21 points. Michigan beat the same Iowa team at home

by 14 points. Ohio State's victory over Michigan State was also

more lopsided than Michigan's win over the same Spartans.

Michigan's only win over a top 25 team so far was the win at

South Bend against the Fighting Irish. Ohio State has a tougher

schedule than Michigan.

The Buckeyes are #1, no doubt about it. I think the writers are just playing games, to keep interest up. If you watch, the biggest debate has been who is #2. When that offense gets clicking, there are just too many weapons. Those WR's can't all be double teamed, so you have to decide who to risk it with. Ginn is so fast and has played with Smith for years. Those guys are always on the same page. Gonzalez seems to always find an open spot and has great hands. Michigan does have a great front on defense, but I think that they will have to realign to compensate for the receivers. Michigan offense is good, but we have all witnessed what happens when Mannigham? is not in the line-up.

You should not judge based on the MSU games because MSU gets up more for the Michigan game. With that said, OSU is, without question, #1. Until they lose, that should not change. I just can't wait for 11/18.

Does OSU deserve to be ranked #1 yes They haven't lost (yet)

I hope that come Nov.18th OSU is still ranked #1 at 12:00 P.M.

When the clock strikes 4 P.M. I hope OSU will have 1 loss.

The game should be close but with a little luck U of M can win.

OSU is defiantly a better team. The stats prove this. OSU is always getting the short end of the stick when it comes to the "experts." Just wait until Nov!

Ohio State is pretty clearly the best team in the naton, untill somebody beats them. (Michigan?) Even if you are a die-hard Ohio State fan, there is no denying that Ohio State is the best team in the nation.
