Can AOL email users join a yahoo group? Are there special issues, or is my friend just missing something?
A friend with an AOL email address doesn't seem to be able to join my yahoo groups. She's not very computer literate, and I don't know anything about AOL and not much about yahoo groups to coach her through it. Is it possible to do this? Is there something special you need to do or?
If she has to join yahoo and get an i.d. to do it, can she not use her yahoo address and still get the mail directly to her aol account?

She *could* get a new email, as suggested, but it's an active group and she would have to check it everyday--just for that group. That doesn't seem reasonable to ask. Is there any way around that?

Yes, AOL email users can join. She would have to join Yahoo. She would have to sign in to her Yahoo mail to get her messages from the group. Or she can have them sent to her AOL email account. While she is setting up her group preferences, she can select the AOL or Yahoo email address for her group message delivery.
If she gets a Yahoo premium account which costs $, she could download Yahoo messages to her computer. She would have to know how to set her email up to do this. It is too detailed to type all that in this anwer.
