I'm not sure that I River works with the Mac platform. I say this because I have one myself (excellent player by the way) and it's box said that I needed Windows XP to download music onto the player. The player is also designed to import playlists from windows media. I tunes would most likely work the smoothest with ipod mp3 players.
However, you might plugging your player into your mac and seeing if it picks up your i-river as another hard drive. If so, you can go directly to the music files that your i-tunes plays from and drag and drop.
P.S. When you mentioned i-tunes, I assumed that you were running a Mac. If you are running i-tunes on a PC that is XP or better, then you are in luck. Even though i-river does not support i-tunes, I am 100% sure that you can go directly to the music files on your hard drive and drag and drop onto your player. You can also create your own folders and categorize your music yourself.
Hope this helps.
