Can I turn .mpeg4's into .wma's or .mp3's?
even the protected ones! this is so annoying; i'm sick of itunes and am getting a new music player (prolly NOT an ipod) and was wondering HOW i can change all these mpeg4's into .wma's so they can be played on microsoft zune and other cooler-than-the-ipod mp3 players

but is there some spyware-free program that will allow me to convert em easily??? w/ a program i'd be able to run it and go to sleep then wake up (granted my music collection size, 2 days later) and have it be done. Doing it that way would take a while.,..

I use Cool Edit Pro for ALL my audio editing. There are a ton of others, here's a site:

I convert all audio files to .wma for optimal. The "Plus" enhancement of Windows XP Pro will allow an .mp3 file to be converted to Wandows Media Audio by right clicking and choosing "convert".

You can burn all your mp4s to a CD, and then re-rip them back to your hard drive as MP3s.
If you mean video files, then I think you can use software like DVD Decrypter to get audio files from the video file.
