How do I correct a sorely mistaken journalist?
A journalist wrote a report on how Halloween was celebrated in the U.S. and the beginnings of it. She was sorely mistaken and she didn't report her sources (I don't think she digged that deep) and made Halloween like something it is not.

I think that you should consider contacting this person if you feel strongly about it. Sometimes its good to let things go by, but maybe a readers comments could help them improve. You are right, she should have dug deeper so write her a note saying that some of her facts were incorrect. Dont be rude or anything, just tell her what she did that made you upset. If you aren't rude or anything she will probably think of your oppinion more highly and most likely consider it when she next writes an article. Also, if your goal out of this is to get her fired, write to the editor explaining your situation, but that probably isn't your goal. You just want to let her know that she could have put a bigger effort into it. So make sure you tell her all of the details about how she was sorely mistaken without insulting her. Good luck!

Contact the newspaper or magazines editor, wirte note after note and call after call. Don't give up until you get a response. The sad thing is, is people write things like that and then people hate Halloween and children never get to experience the joy of dressing up, playing pretend and getting candy.

write a letter to wherever this was published (if it was a newspaper or magazine, your letter could be published). remember to be polite and cuatious because no one likes to be corrected or told how to do their job. Do it in a way that isn't going to offend them.
