You should be developing a huge bacterial infection just about now. If it is a visible bite, take it to a visible vet for an alligator conformation.
Why was the screen door open that allowed the reptile to get into the house?

If you live in alligator country or in the country in general, you shouldn't leave the back door open. It was most likely a raccoon, opossum, or a rat that bit you. Since you don't know what bit you, you should go to the doctor and get checked out for infection and rabies.

i think if a alligator bit you, you would not be sitting at your computer asking this...do you have pets? live in an area where there is a lot of wild life? did you go to the er? did you get stiches? its hard to say by asking us a general question, what bit you, not enough details, to give you an answer...

First, do you have any pets at home? Is there any way something could get in the house? Maybe a rat or opposum bit you.
