College is a place where help should be readily available. Don't wait. Go to the financial aid office and see what happens if you fail one class. Go to the math dept. and see how and where you can get help studying.

Like you I was struggling in math. The best I can tell you is to utilize the services that your campus offers. If there is free tutorial then go! If your professor will tutor you during office hours, go to that too. Also, create and/or join a study group. These things will help you immensely. This is coming from someone who started out with an F in math in the beginning of the semester and ended up with an A! You have to focus and prioritize on what is important. You have to study alone, together, and use helpful study aids in order to pass. Believe me, I have been there!
As for financial aid, you are covered this semester, but next semester you may lose your aid. You should visit the Fin Aid office for more info.

Some of your financial aid may be tied to your grades. If you don't bring up your grades, you stand a chance of losing it.
As for bringing up your grades:
1) Concentrate on your studies. College is full of distractions, and part of what you are learning is how to prioritize.
2) Expect to study at least 2 hours for every hour you are in class, whether you have specific, written homework or not. (So, if you have this class three times a week, for an hour, study THAT day for two more hours)
3) Use all the aids you have available - teacher hand-outs, teacher's office hours, school tutoring program, friends, paying for tutoring, the internet. (in that order)
4) Do all homework and turn in on time.

Contact your financial aid advisers. It's always a great idea to keep them informed. If they do not know the situation they cannot help you. Sometimes they cannot help when you go to them too late for advise.
Also talk to your professor! One of the best things I've learned in college is that you can argue. You can contest you grade and argue as to why you received that D instead of a C. Even if you sit down and talk to your professor (not just after class but during his/her office hours) they can really help you. If they do not know you're not understanding something, they cannot help you.

Financial aid will pay this semester. Next semester they will penalize you and you will receive less if you do not maintain at least a
"C" average. Lots and lots of extra help in the Math labs on campus will help at least bring your grade up. It is aggravating but, if you want to keep financial aid then you need to put forth every minute to keep that average. Good luck. LL.

Financial aid depends on the source and maybe the school, so I don't know if it will be affected or not.
Get tutoring to bring your grade up. There are probably ads hanging around your campus. A lot of times you can find it cheap too because it will be another student wanting to make some money.
