What is your favorite breed of dog and why??

Mine are Black Labrador Retrievers. They're soft and soulful, goofy and gregarious and loving and loyal to the core. I have 3. Lila, Georgia and Oliver.

German Shepherds rule! I had one (boo hoo - not now) and she was hands down the smartest dog I've ever had. Get a puppy - not an older dog, they have one master and you need to be the one to raise the dog. She was very protective of me and the ones I love. So protective that she would not let my mother-in-law leave with my baby daughter until I came out and grabbed her collar and assured her it was OK. She often would grab my kids by the waist band on the back of their pants or skirts, and drag them back if she felt they were too close to the road, or any other situation she felt was not good for them. Not that I didn't watch them, she was just extra careful and watched them constantly. She loved to swim and so do I. I could throw a rock in a lake and she would, if necessary, dive and come up for air and dive again until she came back with the exact same rock. She was an excellent frisbee player, she would roll her eyes and let me put clothes on her (for a very short period of time- got some great pics :). She very quickly learned to flip the latch on the chain link gate to let herself out whenever she chose. We had to put a lock on the gate. Occasionally, she would decide she had to go on a big explore and jump the fence, she would be sitting at a table with the 2 dogcatchers playing cards every time I went to look for her. I think they loved her almost as much as I did. She was fun, loving, protective, warned me when something bad was about to happen. I could go on forever, but I'm sure you're getting bored by now. Again, get a puppy. They have only one master and will protect you and the ones you love to the death.

This is in the commuting section, so I'd have to say the large red headed woman who I see most days on my way home from work. She drives a purple New Beetle and looks like an Irish Setter at the wheel.

I used to show dogs. I started out with Irish Setters (beautiful), then Cocker Spaniels (beautiful). I don't show anymore, but I have three female chinese crested's (powderpuffs). They have the greatest personalities.

I like Transylvanian Hellhounds because they are huge, 100 kilos or more, natual born killers, flesh eaters, and love to play frisbee.
