How can I contact someone with NASCAR? I have an idea to make the races safer and more exciting. Anybody know?
The idea is simple.
With 25 laps to go, throw a caution and freeze the field.
Cars that are laps down are done for the day.
Allow the crews to make final adjustments for five minutes.
Put them back on the track in the same running order as before the caution, and Hang On!
Any additions and improvements to this idea are welcome.
Take your time and really think about it, I will read all posts.
Any crap about NASCAR not being a sport, being boring, blah blah blah will be reported as not an answer.
Don't you think that if the crews know it's coming it will create even more strategy?
Instead of trying to stretch a tank of fuel till the end, they will try to stretch it until 25 to go.Instead of being complacent running in the back, drivers will try harder to remain on the lead lap.

nascar.com They'll just delete your message, they think they already have ALL the answers. But in reality, they don't even know the questions.

It IS an interesting idea, and would be fun to watch, however I'm not a huge fan of it. I have to say though it would make it more exciting to watch the lapped cars, because they'd be fighting hard for the lucky dog or to race their way back onto the lead lap.
It's just that as I like to say, it's not over till it's over, and in a normal race the lapped cars still have a chance of winning even with 25 laps to go. It would just kind of be a shame to take the chance away from them.

Hey man, you've got an interesting idea. Unfortunately, I don't think that goes with the NASCAR rules. Things like being a lap down doesn't mean that those drivers have no chance of winning, so it wouldn't be fair to force them out of the race. Also, how would you be able to freeze a field? If cars are making moves and changing positions, it would be hard to freeze the field...you would have to slow all the cars down and the positions would change in doing so...you get my meaning?
I absolutely don't think NASCAR's a stupid sport. I love NASCAR racing and I like your racing suggestions. Who knows? You might change the whole way we once knew of racing! We need fresh minds with new ideas to bring into old fashioned rules. I would say that you can contact NASCAR by going to their website, and using any contact info you find there! Much luck man!

Hi Hott dawg
I have to say sorry, man, but in all honesty, you ideas wouldn't make it off the ground, for the following reasons.
1. those guys who are laps down are still racing for points and the corresponding payout that goes with positioning.
2. THE FANS WOULD ABSOLUTELY FREAK OUT IF THEIR FAVE DRIVER WAS TAKEN OUT FOR BEING LAPS DOWN. Dale Jr NATION would probably incite a riot......
3. "Allow the crews to make final adjustments for five minutes." WHY subject us to five minutes of stupid Jared and SUBWAY tv ads.........NOOOO!!! I beg of you !!! Please NOOOOOOO!!!!
4. SPONSORS pay big $$$$$$ to have their logos seen on TV, at the track, etc., How often do you see the big names like 8 20 24 48 6 17, etc finishing at the back of the pack....QUITE OFTEN, right?
So if we did as you suggested, those companies seeking EXPOSURE like Home Depot, Lowe's, Dupont, Budweiser, Dewalt, (you know the big names) would probably say BUH-BYE. Trust me it aint racing that keeps NASCAR going, it's brand name product MARKETING and SPONSORSHIPS
10 points please, thank you fellow nascar fan, I still think your question is WORTHY of consideration; the rules change all the time.
Peace. (wow that was like a mouthful of "38 M&M's !!!!)

www.nascar.com Interesting idea. Wouldn't fly though. Even though a guy is laps down, he still might get his car in enough camera shots to make sponsors happy and that's what NASCAR really cares about.
