Clearly PINE TAR. He has been using it in the Yankees series, A's series and the World series as well. I dont think the umpires should have just let him wash it. It's black or white, he either had it or not. If they did find him with Pine tar then should have been pulled out of the game by the umpires.

But it doesn't matter, Cardinals are gonna win the World Series anyways.

Of course it was pine tar, but the bigger question is so what?!? Guys have been doctoring the ball since Candy Cummings invented the curveball. Hell, Gaylord Perry made a HOF career of it!

Pine Tar. What's funny is so many current and former MLB players saying it's no big deal. Cheating is cheating....

Pine Tar... and it worked like a charm!!!

it was pine tar, but like Larussa said he did not want to win like that. He thinks that by calling him out and getting him suspended and he wins the world series then he will win it with a asterisk beside it, this world series would go down as the Kenny rogers world series and Larussa wants it to be a clean win according to his interview today.

Who cares...I agree with Tony LaRussa, he didn't want to win by having Rogers suspended. And I don't think it really effected how the pitches worked. I think people make too big a deal about it. It's not like he was spitting on the ball or scuffing it, and if the TV camera wouldn't have caught it on his hand, nobody would have ever known about it. Someone had to do something to cause a little drama.
