Also they can cause your breathing to slow down or even stop. The way overdose works is that you fall asleep then your breathing stops.

Both Methadone and Xanax are great drugs separately, just don't mix them. It doesn't take much to kill you either, as little as 25mg of Methadone and 2-4mg of xanax combined have been known to cause death. Google Xanax+Methadone+Death and you will get tons of examples.

And as far as your Doctor that prescribed both of them together, I'd find a new Dr. who knows his meds and has your best interest in mind.

Any street level user can tell you that those are two drugs you never want to mix unless you just don't care what happens.

Taking any medication can result in death if u take too much or if u have an allergic reaction. Xanax and methadone are for two different conditions. As long as u take them the way they r prescribed, there should be no problem. They may cause some sedation if u have never taken them before.

My son died of this. He was 225lbs, 6'3" very healthy. He was on a small dosage of xanax for anxiety and someone gave him a low dose methadone for his headache. He laid down to nap and never woke up. It took 5 months of tissue tests to find any methadone in his system it was such a small amount, they knew about the xanax as it was prescribed.

They can have the ability to intensify the effects of both drugs simultaneously. This can increase the sedative effect. Use good judgment when taking them. You won't die, you will probably become a zombie. Drugs are for wimps. Doctors continue to overprescribe medications to soothe symptoms rather than seek a legitimate cure. Just remember, doctors are just humans. They don't know everything.
