I have been watching my own dreams for a long time now. I believe they are messages from the unconscious. I found that when I have dreamed of being pregnant or having a baby, it's my unconscious telling me about an important new beginning. It doesn't happen often, but when it does I definitely pay attention. There is definitely a pattern to it.

Once I dreamed I was pregnant and at an abortion clinic waiting for my boyfriend to show up, I was scared and I felt totally abandoned. Later I broke up with the guy and spiraled into a depression. It was like I had abandoned myself for a while. I stopped taking care of myself. It was a dark time for me.

Later I dreamed I was pregnant and with a guy friend of mine in a station wagon at a scenic stop in the mountains. That was shortly before I moved across the country (to the mountains) and started a new life.

Another time I dreamed I was at my new job, and there was a dead baby in a basinette in the workroom. I was trying to arrange things around it to make it look better. But eventually I got creeped out and just ran away. That was when I started this boring job that I did not enjoy, it was going nowhere. If babies are new beginnings, this showed a *dead* new beginning, something that had no life and no energy for me, something that was not "fixable".

Other times I have actually had the baby in my dreams. Since those awful dreams, I have had two or three more dreams featuring babies. The babies have been more and more real, and the scenes have been happy. Since those bad times, I have pretty much gotten my life together.

My point in telling you all this is to show you how you can read the situation around you and your baby in the dream-- the place where you are, the mood you're in, the things that happen around you-- to show you the nature of the important new beginning that's constellating in your life.

I had dreams about having a baby because I was ready to start a family and my material instincts were kicking in. Also, it could mean you want to teach the innocent that come into the world. You either aspire to have a baby and start a family or want to protect the future innocence of a child by sculpting them and molding thm.

To see a baby in your dream, signifies innocence, warmth and new beginnings. Babies may symbolize something in your own inner nature which is pure, vulnerable, and/or uncorrupted. Babies may represent an aspect of yourself that is vulnerable and helpless. If you dream that you forgot you had a baby, then it suggests that you are trying hide your own vulnerabilities; You do not want to let others know of your weaknesses.

If you dream that you are on your way to the hospital to have a baby, then it signifies your issues of dependency and your desire to be completely care for. Perhaps you are trying to get out of some responsibility. If you are pregnant, then a more direct interpretation may simply mean that you are experiencing some anxieties of making it to the hospital when the time comes.

To dream of a crying baby, is indicative of a part of yourself that is deprived of attention and needs some nurturing. Alternatively, it represents your unfulfilled goals and a sense of lacking in your life.

To dream about a starving baby, represents your dependence on others. You are experiencing some deficiency in your life that needs immediate attention and gratification.

To dream of an extremely small baby, symbolizes your helplessness and your fears of letting others become aware of your vulnerabilities and incompetence. You may be afraid to ask for help and as a result tend to take matters into your own hands.

To see a dead baby in your dream, symbolizes the ending of something that is part of you.

To dream that you are dipping a baby in and out of water, signifies regression. You are regressing to a time where you had no worries and responsibilities. Alternatively, it is reminisce of when the baby is in the fetus and in its comfort zone. In fact, some expectant mothers even give birth in a pool, because the environment in the water mimics the environment in the uterus. It is less traumatic for the baby as it emerges into the world. So perhaps, the dream your search for your own comfort zone.

Dreams are in fact the interpretation of the thinking what you have been for hours and your brain is not leaving that thought, hence the dream comes in the form of story, logical or baseless. Probably some new born has come in your family or relatives.
