To add to the current UK debate about the wearing of the veil amongst Muslim women?
Has anyone considered robbing a bank disguised as a pious Muslim female? Its the perfect disguise and you could fit a small armoury underneath most of these outfits. Can women even wear the veil in a bank ? If you go into one wearing a motorbike helmet and don't take it off they assume you are about to rob them so why should the veil be any different ? I am not a racist nor an Islamophobe but when I want to talk to someone in person I want to see their face not just their eyes. If I as a youngish male was to walk around the streets with only my eyes showing I would bet my testicles that I would soon be pulled over by the Police for a stop and search. Sensible debate or funny answers only please post the race hate somewhere else.

Aye, but thing often with the veils I find, is they can be just as intimidating, if not more-so than hoodies.
also arnt they a way to lose your identity? when someones got one on, from distance you can't see if it's male/female, old young etc... perfect disguse for a criminal?!

I don't think that is the issue that causes the debate on the right of Muslim women to wear veils.
I think the issue is that Muslim women declare they will not integrate in modern UK society, they will not accept the customs of this society, they will stress their difference.
but on the other hand is the issue of personal freedom.

first of all , if you don't like to talk to someone who is not showing their eyes , DON'T , it's your freedom , but it's their freedom as well if they don't want to show it , and if someone was a robber , it won't make any difference if she is wearing a veil or not , many ways can be found to rob , so it's not about the religion more than it's about the personality .....
