Most hang out of their windows to get a bit of peace and quiet.

go to church events. Churches have single parent events. It is much better than some bar. Ok, I already know, you don't go to church. You don't have to go to church to go to the singles things. And someone you find at one of these is less likely to be sleezy or creepy. And if he is, throw him back.

and if you just want to communicate with other single parents, these sort of things work great for that. Don't worry dear. You will get the swing of it soon. Even try school events, like carnivals and lawn fetes and stuff like that. Lots of single parents mingle there.
