my tv keeps reverting to the input channel?

i had the surrond sound plugged in. i unplugged it so my son could watch cartoon network and the tv keeps changing the channel all by itself back to the input channel. i've tried changing it back and i've tried turning it off. it randomly switches back to that channel. anyone have any idea how i can fix this?

    I had something like this happen to me with my TV. It kept turning itself back on after being off for a while. The cause turned out to be a remote whose battery was almost completely dead (also, one of its buttons may have been stuck). I discovered that this was the cause when I took the batteries out of the remote and it stopped happening... but for a while it made me wonder if my TV was 'possessed'!
