I have lost my USB ports, Integrated NIC, and CD Writer?

I recently had some power issues and replace the power supply on my computer. (I ordered the power supply directly from the manufacturer). I start it up and the USB ports, NIC and CD are not even there? It's like they never existed. Any suggestions?

I would try reinstalling the power supply and make sure everything is plugged in tightly. Otherwise, bring the power supply back for a new one and pray to god that you didn't fry the motherboard. Good luck.

Integrated NIC and USB port have no direct connection to your power supply. this mean your software driver is missing due to corrupted system. this can be resolve by reinstalling the driver or just simply repair your windows, provided that both of this devices have not been disabled in your BIOS. Cd Writer drive has a direct connection with your power supply. switch of your pc and power socket, make sure the power connector is properly plugged in. when a power supply spoiled, normally it come with a power surge, if it is big enough it'll damag a few other hardware in your pc. hope this is not the case.

reformat! Simply means your driver corrupted after the power-out. Quite common - can also happen if you don't shut down properly.

I've got the same issue at present (also after a power out), but as I'm dual booting and the other OS is fine, I'm holding off a few weeks till my final arts project is done

You need to visit your PC manufacturers site or the site that makes your motherboard and download the motherboard drivers! This however may still not solve your problem due to the fact that your mobo may be ruined due to a power surge!

TO Kanis, your one of those boobs that suggests a reformat although you dont bother to tell these folks what problems they will run into by reformatting!

Try running System Restore to a time when they were there and try again.

If you still have no joy, have a techie take a look at it for you, he will have to open it up and check all the connections internally, they might have been unplugged when the PSU was swapped out.
