anyone know how you can record someones webcam when using yahoo chat?

There are a few diffrent recorders out there...

The best one is at http://www.oatmealmedia.net/ they have programs to view without permission, record to svi video, play video over your own cam (even if you don't have one) etc.etc. good stuff. it's like $30, but it works like a membership and you can get all of their programs for that.

Another one is http://www.fakewebcam.com/ theres records webcams and plays back over your own webcam. It cost like $20 per program there though.

The last one I know of is http://www.stickercam.com/ theirs records and playsback but it mainly for adding effects to your cam like falling snowflakes and stuff. It's not as fast as the other 2, and the quality isn't as good. I think it's like $30

Incase you are wondering about the people who say this stuff is illegal. It's not. You can view webcams without asking permission. This is not illegal because the user still has to log into a public forum (yahoo) and therefore their expectation of privacy is gone. They also have to turn there webcam on. It is not illegal to record webcam either, you can record anything that you see on your screen. After all it's your computer. The only thing that would be illegal is if you were to publish the recording without the users permission, then they MIGHT have a copyright lawsuit. . . . Doubt that would get very far, but still.

There are alot of webcam recorders out there on the web. And by the way, it ISN'T against the law. Some people should know what they are talking about before they answer questions on here.
