Officially the weights and measures are metric.
However, if you ask someone 'how much do you weigh?' The answer will be something like 5'3", the same holds true for the weight. While vegetables and meats are sold by kilos, people use pounds to calculate their weight.
Refrigerators are sold by cubic feet.
The clearance for many overpasses is 4m27cm, which actually is equal to 14feet.
In the supermarket you can buy butter in 227gm packages, which also is not metric, but rather 1/2 lb.

The Metric System is used in most trade and legal transactions.
ELECTRICITY
220 volts a/c is the common standard. 110 volts a/c is also used, especially in major hotels.
CURRENCY
The Philippines' monetary unit is the peso, divided into 100 centavos. Weights, in the market it is metric so kilos, are the order of the day. along with litres and metres.
Speed and distance: KPH and kilometres.
Weight of a person, they will usually use pounds.
Height of a person, they will usually use feet and inches.
However if you have to fill in an official form height is in centimetres, and weight is in kilos.
