What's the best resource for learning to spin yarn?

I want to learn to spin, but can't afford the outrageous prices that the local yarn-and-crafts shop charges for their spinning workshop. Do you know any good online resources?

I've been having the same problem. I started spinning about nine months ago and am having a good time with it, but I still need guidance in just about every aspect of spinning.

It does seem that anyone who could help you will only do so for a ridiculous fee.

I found the book "Handbook of Spinning" by Lee Ravens to be the most helpful of all that I read. You should be able to get it out of your library. After you've read through the directions for starting to spin, just try it. All directions will make more sense after you try it yourself.

The best advice I ever got was that you will most likely be very frustrated for the first hour or so and then, all of a sudden, as if by magic, your feet and hands figure out what to do.

After that, it's just practice, practice, practice to get better all the time. ENJOY!!
