The son Mr. Kumar working in the city Tranport (a.p.s.r.t.c.)as Driver died of an Electrocution. The Govt & the RTC Authorities were kind enough to grant Ex-gratia paments to the wife. Now The wife and children are getting pension through the EPF. And now she has rejected the parents of her Husband. Is It legal to discard such old people who have lost their only son. It is immoral and against the tenets of DHARMA. But what is the Legal Remedy? Can any body help to answer?

There is not much you can do. I am so sorry that happened but in the end hopefully she will allow them visitation rights to the grandparents of her kids. That is the only way to deal with this, is through making her feel guilty for not letting the grandparents spoil the kids a little every now and then. Just make sure the grandparents are not idiots as well. Also make sure enough time has passed. I am sure this would be a sore subject for all. Time and a little effort usually heals all but time is a very big factor.

It's unfortunate but helpless.If the grant was awarded to the deceased wife and children only.
